Here’s a glimpse into the piece:

…Over the years that followed Alyice was hit with an isolating depression that rocked her world and caused her to experience insomnia to the 9th degree. With lack of motivation, her business began to suffer as did her self-esteem… Slowly that depression began to lift and her days were once again filled with motivation. Though the insomnia remains, Alyice has learned to work around it.

Featured On Fave Crafts

I was featured on Fave Crafts today.

I created this cute Mother’s Day Gift Planter out of a Paper Mache flower pot, some joint compound, acrylic paints, and fake flowers.

It’s a bright, cheery way to spruce up your mother’s home décor and remind her that summer is right around the corner.

Featured On Craft For Health

I was featured on the Craft For Health blog. I talk about how connecting with other artists, via art blogs, helped me deal with my depression.

Here is a glimpse into the piece…

When I discovered art blogs it was as though a whole new world had opened up to me and I was hooked! I enjoyed the visual stimulation I got from the new project posts. I found inspiration in the personal struggles as well as the accomplishments of the artists. For some reason, connecting with other artists, albeit online, was healing.

I think I’ll always be a fan of art blogs. They fuel the imagination and reading them “gets me out of the house” and keeps me from being swallowed up by the isolation I sometimes feel living here in this small town.
