They say the more you play with your art, the better you get. The reason being that you are not putting pressure on yourself to perform, to get it right the first time out, to make something for the sole purpose of earning an income. Makes sense when you think about it.
Last summer I took a beautiful photo of Black-eyed Susans, complete with spider.

These are sections from the digital artwork I created out of that single photo. I’m a bit technically challenged when it comes to digital photo software, but I’ve discovered that playtime can be both liberating and fun!!

This is a “catch all” I created out of an old Ovaltine canister, some molding paste, a few napkins, and acrylic paints. I made it for the child of an online buddy.

There’s no special reason for the design except that I believe every child should have the opportunity to grow up strong and beautiful, to be able to experience nature in its truest form, and to feel safe in spite of the chaos thrust upon them by our fast paced and ever changing world.

This is a “catch all” I created out of an old peanut canister. I call it “Earth Tones” because it reminds me of something you’d find in a Native American hut many, many years ago. Its simple elegance draws me to it and I had a hard time giving it up.

I made it for a young mom who wanted something nice to place on her kitchen table but didn’t want glass for fear that her little ones would knock it over and break it.
