This year, I decided to make Valentine’s cards for family and friends. This Valentine’s Day card is for my sister-in-law, Merri. It represents her every growing family and the love they share with one another.
What I love about this painting is the vibrancy of the blue sky against the warmth of the red hearts. To me, the birds represent the flight of love. In other words, the birds represent our ability to take flight when it comes to love; to look beyond the other person’s issues and see the true heart of the person; to love without boundaries.
May this Valentine’s Day card remind you to take time out of your busy day to send a special note of love to the ones you care about—whether they live down the street, or many states away.

Supplies:
To create this Valentine’s Day card, follow the instructions below:
Please note, I have torn book pages in the center of the bush. Looking at the image now, I wish I hadn’t done that as the torn papers take focus off the hearts and the birds.

As a freelance work-from-home business woman, I am often approached by women who long to make a little extra money from home while they raise their children. Some are tired of the rat race and hate leaving their children in daycare. Others are tired of pinching pennies just to stay home with their children and long for extra cash to take the kids out once in awhile. Both types of women wonder how I had the courage to “step out on faith” and start not one, but several businesses, over the years.

To each group of women, I say, “You’ve got to have a supportive spouse backing you, you must know what your true success meter is, and then you’ve got to throw a little caution to the wind and just grab hold of those dreams and never look back. It’s not easy. It’s not always fun. And there’s a lot of compromising to be made. But if you believe you’re meant to do something else, reach. Anything is possible when you reach for your dreams.”
May this card remind you to reach for your dreams—whatever they may be.
Until next time,

When I was a little girl, I loved to chase after butterflies; yet always too afraid of catching them for fear they’d die in my care. They mesmerized me and could keep me content for hours. It was fun to watch them soar through the air without a care in the world as they hopped from one flower to the next. It amazed me how fast their wings fluttered and yet, how calm they seemed.
I can still remember the first time I watched a caterpillar cocoon into a butterfly. The transformation was breathtaking. But it is the symbolism of the butterfly’s transformation that has captivated me over the years—that, and their magnificently colored wings!

May this butterfly inspired greeting card help you remember that life is beautiful and worth fighting for. And may it also remind you that change can be a good thing; especially when it causes personal growth and a chance for rebirth.
