However you say it “Live Well, Love Much, Laugh Often” or “Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Always” or “Live, Love, Laugh”, this simple saying has a very powerful hold over generations of people. Dating back to the late 1800s – early 1900s, this phrase has provided hope to the weary, encouragement for the broken-hearted, and comfort to the lonely—so few words, yet so many interpretations.

To live as if there were no tomorrow; to live with passion and dreams and hopes; to live for today; to slow down just enough to experience the here and now. To love without inhibitions; to love with your whole being; to love without regret; to love unconditionally; to allow yourself the freedom to experience what it means to give yourself to another human being. To laugh without cynicism; to laugh without fear; to laugh without condemnation; to laugh simply because it feels good and right and just; to laugh because you feel satisfied, content, and joyful; to laugh because it makes the world a brighter place.
May this note card remind you to pause long enough to live, love, and laugh—despite the struggles in your own life.

Having grown up in sunny, Southern California, I didn’t experience the changing of seasons so I had no idea just how magnificent the autumn season was or how handsome the leaves looked as they matured. As each year passed, I learned more and more about the importance of those autumn leaves: how they provided nourishment, how they replenished thirst, how they let go of the tree so that it could survive the long, winter months.

And it got me thinking about the men in our lives and how important it is to recognize their strengths, to applaud their roles in providing for our families, and to give them space so they, too, can grow—and not wither up and become shells of the men we once knew.
In honor of the men in our lives, I created this collaged painting. May this note card remind you to honor the man in your life, too.

You know that saying, “when it rains, it pours”? Well that has been 2008. There was only one other time in my life when I was this happy to finally see the year end and a new year begin—and that was far worse an experience/trial than this past year.

All I can really say about 2008 is, “THANK GOD IT’S OVER!”
With that said, I cannot say there weren’t things to be grateful for in 2008 because that would be a lie—just read my past “gratitude” posts.
Still, I so look forward to 2009 and am very optimistic about the possibilities it holds. Not only do I get to say goodbye to a career that I was getting burnt out on, but I get to take a break from working full time so that I can concentrate on creating art and improving my skills as an artist. And, thanks to a supportive husband, I get to try my hand at “selling art”, too. Just look at this beautiful note card I created tonight and it’s for sale!
Give thanks…
