Butterfly Inspired Art

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 by Alyice

When I was a little girl, I loved to chase after butterflies; yet always too afraid of catching them for fear they’d die in my care. They mesmerized me and could keep me content for hours. It was fun to watch them soar through the air without a care in the world as they hopped from one flower to the next. It amazed me how fast their wings fluttered and yet, how calm they seemed.

I can still remember the first time I watched a caterpillar cocoon into a butterfly. The transformation was breathtaking. But it is the symbolism of the butterfly’s transformation that has captivated me over the years—that, and their magnificently colored wings!

May this butterfly inspired greeting card help you remember that life is beautiful and worth fighting for. And may it also remind you that change can be a good thing; especially when it causes personal growth and a chance for rebirth.

Thanks For My Home

Home Sweet Home © Alyice Edrich, 2009

You know that feeling you get when you return home from vacation—the one that tells you it feels good to be home? I love that feeling. I love returning from a vacation, plopping my bags on the floor, and heading straight to my bedroom where I drop down into the bed, take a deep breath, close my eyes, and say, “Ah! Home, Sweet, Home”.

Vacations are always wonderful. There’s nothing more exciting than exploring the world around you, but home—home is a magical place filled with love and friendships and memories. Home is the place where dreams are built. Home is the place where families are made. Home is the place where one can take off her shoes and be herself. Home is a complete and absolute refuge.

May this card remind you to celebrate the home in which you live—regardless of its joys or hardships—and the people with whom you reside.

Give thanks…

Turn Over Your Worries

Let Go Of Your Fears & Believe © Alyice Edrich, 2009

As our economy continues to experience a recession, we find ourselves overstressed, overly anxious, and worried about what the future holds. We worry about being able to keep roofs over our heads, food on the table, and bodies healthy and we worry about things that are beyond our control. It’s at times like these that we find it easy to allow the uncertainties of the future to rob us of the little joys we have left.

May this card remind you to put your faith in a higher power and believe that “this too shall pass” so that when fears of our current economic crisis take hold, you’ll have the strength to believe and once again be able to see the joy that surrounds you.
