I've owned Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 (Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is out now) for a little over a year now and as much as I wanted to learn how to use it, I just hated the learning curve just to get the basics of the program down! So I stuck with my basic understanding of Corel Paintshop Pro—and called it a day.
Then I stumbled upon Adobe Photoshop Elements 9: Learn by Video course at Barnes 'n Noble (which is $15 more than Amazon, by the way) and decided to buy it. Still, it sat on my desk, untouched for two, maybe three months.
Until... I ran across Rick Peterson's site, Essential Photoshop Elements. From there, I visited his Facebook page and conversed with some of his fans who assured me that while Photoshop Elements can seem daunting at first, if I just dived in and started playing around with the program it would become less intimidating. They also suggested that I watch some of Rick's videos and check out his e-book, Fix Your Photos with Photoshop Elements 8, 9, & 10 - An Illustrated Step-By-Step Guide... so I did.
It didn't take long after that for me to decide it was time to buckle down and make time to learn Adobe PSE9 and all I can say is, "Thank you Rick Peterson and fans!" I feel like such a novice, and yet, I'm finding it to be just as much fun as it is frustrating.
These are my latest digital creations. I am very, very pleased with the way my Sunshine Sunflower Collage Sheet turned out. I am finally able to get the text to blend into the design, with a nice fade. All I can say is "AWESOME!"!
If you have always wanted to learn Adobe PSE, check out Rick's tutorials and e-books. And tell him I sent ya!
